The
Fellowship Ministry has been in place for several years at FCC and seeks to
glorify God by offering an occasional church-wide evening of hospitality, food,
entertainment, and fellowship, all in a Christ-centered atmosphere. Although
these events are primarily attended by those of us within the body, each person
attending is encouraged to invite others to be their guest(s) for a
family-friendly evening "out" in a totally non-threatening environment. Every
effort is made to keep the cost affordable for everyone, and special family
rates as well as scholarships (upon approval) are always available. Many are
surprised to find we Christians can have fun, too!
At the
present time, three events are planned for the calendar year.
Our "grown-ups only" Valentine's Day banquet is held during the month of
February, and the annual Independence Day Celebration is in July. Our annual holiday
dinner, which is a celebration of both Thanksgiving and
Christmas, is held each
November. Each
fellowship event is advertised well in advance of the date scheduled allowing
everyone ample time to "mark calendars!"
The
Fellowship Ministry crew consists of a group of dedicated men and women who
cheerfully work long, hard hours planning, preparing, and serving all of the
meaIs as well as setting up, decorating, cleaning up, and so on. If you are
interested in finding out how you can become a part of this behind-the-scenes
program, please call for more information.
