God has called me to be an educator. I
have been blessed teaching and mentoring students for the past twenty
years. Ten years ago, God called me to join the staff of Southwestern
Christian School. I began teaching the 3rd and 4th grade and accepted
the principal position seven years ago.
God has a mighty work taking place within
First Christian Church and Southwestern Christian School. I am honored
to be a small part of His plan for our students. Together we are
preparing our students to fulfill God's purpose in their lives and to take
hold of leadership opportunities for Christ in the Yuma community and
beyond.

Greetings! I came to
SWCS in 2004 as the first administrative assistant in this school’s
fifteen-year history. I feel blessed to be here--every day! My
energy comes from God, our awesome staff, and the children and parents of
this outstanding school. I am the wife to Jason, and mother to Ashlyn &
Morgan who also attend SWCS. My primary duties are admissions,
accounts payable, accounts receivable, SWCS technology system, purchasing,
and being available to handle staff & student needs or concerns as they
arise.
My favorite scripture is:This is how we know that we love the children of
God: by loving God and carrying out his commands."

God has blessed me with a heart to teach.
It has been an honor to be able to teach kindergartners for over 10 years at
Southwestern Christian School. Each year I look forward to the new
students and their families who will be joining our school family. I
pray God will use SWCS and FCC to raise future Christian leaders for our
hurting world.

Morris, Jean Anne |
Fourth Grade Teacher
Room #249
I attended college at California State
University - Fresno where I majored in Cross-Cultural Studies and
Linguistics for four years. I completed my fifth year education
studies at Northern Arizona University where I received my Bachelor of
Science degree and teacher certification. I taught ESL and fourth
grade for 15 years for Yuma Elementary School District. I retired from
the public school system in 2005.
I have always believed teaching is the most
important calling of all. I really like kids, and it is exciting for
me to watch them learn. I feel truly blessed to be a part of SWCS where I am
now freely able to teach God's word and His great love for us in a school
where Jesus Christ is Lord and where we all know that "the fear of the
Lord is the beginning of wisdom." Proverbs 1:7

"Train up a child in the way he should
go, even when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs
22:6 is a Scripture the Lord gave me twenty-five years ago when I began
teaching. I attended Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California where I
received an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I received
my Bachelors of Science degree at Biola University in La Miranda,
California.
I am truly blessed to have this opportunity
to teach at Southwestern Christian School where I will be able to teach the
children to grow academically and spiritually in a Christ-centered
atmosphere.

Clayton, Earlene |
Third Grade Teacher
Room #142
Over the past 25 years I've taught preschool,
kindergarten, first and second grades in Christian Schools. I've
worked in Special Education programs, and for the past ten years I was with
Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and Blind until I chose to "retire" and
was blessed to return to Christian Education as a third grade teacher.
I treasure each and every experience and each and every student. My
hope is to continue teaching as long as God keeps me able. His
blessings overwhelm me.

Thompson, Marilyn |
Fifth Grade Teacher
Room #249
Hi! My name is Marilyn Thompson.
I've taught at Southwestern Christian School for several years. This
year I've had the privilege of teaching fifth grade and directing an awesome
group of junior high drama students. I've been involved in Christian
education for many years, at many levels. Before coming to
Southwestern Christian School, my experience ranged from first and second
grade, seventh grade math, and tutoring at the junior / senior high school
level. I believe one of the most important things I bring to the
school is my commitment to Christian education. My four children are
graduates of Christian school, so I understand the sacrifices parents make
to give their children this wonderful opportunity. Encouraging
excellence and keeping the "Christ" in Christian education is the mark I'm
pressing toward.

Sixth Grade Teacher

Hello! After working for the Yuma Police
Department for 20 years (1974-1994), I retired and obtained my teaching
certificate from NAU, Yuma. I taught for Yuma School District #1 for
ten years (1994-2004), fourth and sixth grade. God placed a calling on
my heart, and I've been at SWCS since 2004.
"Do your best to present yourself to
God as one approved, a workman who does not have to be ashamed and handles
the word of truth." II Timothy 2:15

Carlisi, Emily |
Second Grade Teacher
Room #143
I started teaching part-time at Mt. Zion
Christian School in 1989 while home schooling my own children. I
accepted a full-time position at Mt. Zion in 1991, teaching grades 5-9 until
1994. I then ran a small private high school level home-school from
1994-98, graduating five college-bound young people. I then joined
Southwestern Christian School part-time in 1997 and have taught full-time
here since 1998, junior high level. I teach because that's what God
has called me to do, and I don't believe I'd find fulfillment doing anything
else!

My name is Crickett Hampton, and I am a
third-generation educator. I graduated from NAU with a degree in
Elementary Education. I am excited to teach at SWCS. I have two
children who have both attended SWCS since kindergarten. I praise God
for the opportunity we have in this country to openly teach others about God
and to make Him famous. "Preach the Word; be prepared in season
and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage---with great patience and
careful instruction."

Rothschild, Jan |
Seventh Grade
Teacher

I can say, without a doubt,
that I have found my calling at Southwestern Christian School. I feel
truly blessed to have the opportunity to teach God’s children and be a
Christian role model for them.
I have my Bachelors degree
in Business Administration and over 20 years of experience working with
teams of young adults to build highly effective organizations. I have
supplemented my education with many communication, coaching, and technical
courses. With my experience, I hope to not only teach subject matter
to the students, but to also teach the students how to effectively
communicate with others, resolve issues, set appropriate boundaries, and to
honor Christ in all that they do.
